My middle grade children’s book A Pocketful of Elf Magic has been a long time in draft from. I am pleased to announce that the story will be published at the end of July. Here is the blurb:
Some problems can’t be fixed with magic… or can they?
Pedro’s world is falling apart.
His parents are getting divorced, his three younger sisters are heartbroken, and nothing feels the way it used to. No matter how hard he tries, Pedro can’t make everyone happy again. He’d do anything to put his family back together.
Then he discovers an elf hiding on the shelf in his bedroom.
The tiny visitor insists magic is real—and that Pedro has been chosen to learn an ancient gift.
As Pedro begins learning magic, he discovers a world filled with wonder, secrets, and possibilities he never imagined.
But while he longs for a spell to fix his family, he begins to learn that some kinds of magic are far more powerful than wishes.
A heartwarming middle-grade fantasy about family, courage, and finding hope when life changes forever.
The book will be available in Amazon as an e-book or a paperback.

Real life can be tricky. Emotions and feelings are difficult to write about sometimes. It’s easy to hide, and push emotions away. How our children manage to wade through their early years when their parents have no idea what they are doing, I really don’t know. I’m nearly fifty-eight and I’ve not worked it out yet.
You know I wish I’d parented differently – and that is another story – but I didn’t. I’m left with regrets and so many words in my head that I’ll probably never get to say to my children. So, I write children’s books, sometimes, as a way of saying how I wish I’d handled things.
It’s also why I write witchy cozy mysteries. I love exploring magic and how we can change things by our thoughts and intentions. I enjoying putting together stories and mysteries.
I love reading lots of different types of stories. There are so many people with interesting stories.
Blackwood Women number four is next – the August release. After that my options are endless.
For now, help me celebrate the release of A Pocketful of Elf Magic. My cute middle grade story that releases at the end of the month.
Happy Reading everyone!
