Today is Australia Day. I’m not getting into the politics of this day, or the significance of the event in the past, present or future. Those who want to celebrate, should be able to. End of story. If I were going to celebrate something today, it would be a good friend’s birthday. Or maybe I’d raise a mug of coffee in cheers as I’ve finished my first book for the year and it will be released at the end of the week!

I’m not stopping there. While Watch Out for the Blackwood Women releases on Friday, it is the first of a few in the series about Daisy, her family and her old school friend Casper. Before I start that, though, there is Arabella’s story, and a few other projects.

The temperature here is hot! Too hot. It’s a good excuse to sit and write, when I’m not at work. Housework and garden can wait.

With each book I write, I explore new ideas. I imagine what it would be like to have magic, like my main characters. I work through how family relationships work and how people interact with each other. What happens when there are lies, deception, heartbreak and how do we move past it.

Hopefully my writing is subtle. At least in these books. There’s one coming up during the years that’s raw, emotional, with all the feels. But more about that one later. For now, let’s celebrate that the first in the Blackwood Women series releases soon!
