I’m still relatively new to this writing caper. I want to be taken seriously, considered professional, and still pump out stories quickly. I want lots of people to read and love my books. The thing is, it’s not all about what I want, now is it? Other people must want to read my stories, to enjoy my words, or at least take something away from the worlds I create.

It started with children’s stories, then a few witchy tales, and cozy mysteries with witchy vibes. This next manuscript is totally different. In each story is a little bit of me, and those people in my life that have helped me become who I am today – good, bad, ugly, the whole crazy eclectic journey of mine.

I think that might be the key. No matter how unusual, thrilling, paranormal, weird, or murderous a story is, it is those with passion that make readers laugh, cry, and feel every emotion the author felt writing it.

Sure, covers are great, advertising and marketing is key, and word of mouth and reviews are critical. Still, the story must hold up under scrutiny. It’s a big ask. I hope I’m growing as an author. Learning, changing, creating worlds that invite imagination and dreaming.

One last thing, I was surprised to hear the cover of one of my books has been nominated for a cover of the month competition.

Happy May everyone.

Autumn Leaves Are Falling: A Spirit Town Cosy Mystery – my first Spirit Town book has had its cover nominated for the “Cover of the Month” contest on AllAuthor.com. If you love my cover as much as I do, I’d be thrilled if you’d help me out by voting for it. The link to vote – https://allauthor.com/cover-of-the-month/19485/
