April Fool’s Day has come and gone. A myriad of jokes were played, people laughed and had fun tricking each other. It’s all part of the fun. I’m not sure of the history of April 1st, an internet search provided several old traditions that may be where this pranking trickster day originated, but nothing I read stood out more than others. People throughout history have enjoyed having fun and playing tricks on each other. Some of the jokes these days are elaborate.
Maybe I just don’t get it, because I’ve never had a particularly strong sense of humour. I’m far too serious for my own good. I should lighten up,
A long time ago, I got married on Saturday 1 April. But that’s a story for another day.
Easter
I’m writing this on Easter Sunday, after spending a lovely day with some friends. I relish my days off now, and make sure I spend time writing, crafting, or gardening, not just doing chores.
What’s Easter for you? Is it a religious day? A long weekend holiday, a meal with family and friends, or just another day?
It depends, doesn’t it? As a child it’s all about the chocolate. Then as a parent it’s all about the chocolate. Without children around, the day takes on a different feel. The religious part changes as we grow too. I was born a Catholic, and after many years of a strong belief, things changed. I became more witchy.
Book News
Then I discovered I love writing witchy stories as much as I love reading them.
This year I decided to challenge myself – publish a book a month.
April’s book is ready for ARC Readers, so if you like the sound of the second Blackwood women story, just let me know.
Daisy’s Magical Nursery
Life is moving fast for Daisy. She’s returned to Tilberry, rebuilt her business, and is settling into the Blackwood home—along with her new role as magical gatekeeper.
If only her cousin Alice hadn’t left town under a dark cloud, everything might be perfect.
And then there’s Casper—her old high school sweetheart—back in town after breaking her heart. Their friendship is mending… but is he keeping secrets?
Because the deeper Daisy steps into her new life, the more she realises just how little she knows about magic—and the dangerous truth her family never meant her to uncover.
I wonder what book I’ll write next?
Happy Easter!
