August – it’s a big month. The end of winter, or summer if you are in the Northern Hemisphere. We finally start to believe that spring, and the warmer weather is just around the corner. It’s the season of Leo, and I’ve dubbed it as the Season of the Witch.

I’m going with positive affirmations – I am powerful, I am confident, I am strong, I can do this! I doubt so much, and let others dictate what happens in my life, and it’s time to stop that. It’s time to regain control. I’m regal, I’m a lion, hear me roar!

In all seriousness, I’m looking to achieve some goals. I can’t write quickly enough for the ideas in my head. Work, and life, gets in the way. I also want to garden, craft etc. I have so many idiosyncrasies, quirks, and foibles in common with my main characters.

Do you let fear, anxiety, doubt, or a lack of confidence stop you? I feel that in my late fifties I should have a worldly wisdom and confidence.

What I love about my characters is that they are braver than me. They can right the wrongs I can’t. Stella, Luna, Beth, Jane, Scarlett, Cora – all work through their past, their pain and grief and move forward. As with most stories, the main characters are inundated with trials and challenges. With each encounter with the bully, the evil doer, or the protagonist, the main character grows stronger and more fearless.

This is why we love the stories, why we read, watch television and movies.
