Welcome to Fantastic February. Some of my favourite people have birthdays this month. Mind you some of my other favourite people have birthdays scattered throughout the year, and I love you all. Birthdays, star signs, magic sigils, tarot, talismans, spells, incantations, witchy festivals and witchy tips – I have so many ideas running around in my head.
I’m writing another Spirit Town cozy mystery and Beth – the main character – is realising she doesn’t know as much about her family history as she thought she did. She spent so long trying to run from her own magical abilities, she feels like she’s missed a lot. Learning that her parents deliberately kept the truth from her isn’t helping.
Isn’t it often the way – in real life and in books – that we learn and grow stronger from adversity. Our own mental health matters. Beth has some nervous ticks – she’s anxious, but she’s strong and she moves through her fear for the sake of the community.
It’s a lifelong struggle for many of us – pushing through that fear, figuring out who are we and what we are meant to do. It takes some of us longer than others. It’s not a race – we push through our challenges at our own pace. Thankfully most of us don’t have a crooked mayor or a coven member trying to stop us getting on with our job. How will Beth solve this mystery? Stay tuned for details on how to purchase this book, and in the meantime why not read the other books in the series, if you haven’t already done so.
PS Is it only me, or do you wish fairies and elves wandered around our streets, and not just the streets in witchy books?
Don’t forget to take time to nourish your soul, check in on your own mental health – I don’t mean to make it sound like a chore…all I mean is – a reminder to myself – believe in my self-worth, my ability – I am enough.
Happy Monday everyone!
