What makes you happy? Is it reading a book, or getting your hands dirty in the garden? Maybe crafting is your forte, or dancing, traveling, or something else entirely. What if we could focus on what makes us happy, making it our motivation for the week? Let’s try that.
I’ve not spent nearly enough time thinking about what makes me happy. I’m so used to wishing I’d done things differently, behaving how I think others expect of me, doing what others want, or ticking off chores that there’s been no time for play or fun.
What would you do, if you could do anything?
My answer to that has changed a lot over the years.
Today I’m so excited to be able to say that I’ve planned a trip away with two of my children in the new year. I’ve also spent a few hours in the garden, creating more of the herb and flower garden I have in my head. Now I’ll spend some time writing.
For me, those three activities make me smile. Soon I’ll be working, and earning money to save for more travel. So many things to smile about today.
