I’ll start today’s blog by remembering all those who have served, protecting us so that we enjoy our freedoms, and our lifestyle as yesterday was Remembrance Day. We are blessed to live in a place where we have a lot of free choice – where we live, what we eat, the clothes we wear, and how we live – to a large extent anyway.
So why do we sometimes feel blah, like we can’t settle, or things don’t feel right? Being out of sorts can cripple our creativity. I have come to the conclusion that it’s all about owning our space. If we feel constricted, maybe we literally have too much clutter surrounding us. I tend to rearrange the furniture, and if I can’t I feel blocked. Going through drawers and cupboards, clearing out what we no longer need helps as well. Another physical tip for claiming our power, our space and our lives is about the foods we eat and our lifestyle habits. Less sugar and processed foods is always a positive. More water and herbal teas to flush out our systems. Movement, stretching, exercise can help our body reach its health potential. As we age these steps become more urgent, but we need to remember we are still in control.
When our bodies feel better, we notice improvements with our overall mental and spiritual well-being as well. Positive affirmations and self-talk confirming to ourselves that we can achieve our goals, whether health related, personal, or business are vital items for our tool kit. We will still have down days, but if we can remember these simple steps, we are more likely to return to a optimistic mindset. Every little bit of positivity helps.
Owning our space, and our life – yes we can – at any age, we sometimes just have to change the way we think about things and the way we do things.
