Ostara, the Spring Equinox – a time of balance, when the number of daylight hours equals the hours of darkness. Plants, trees, and flowers celebrate with new growth. Animals, birds and insects bring forth new life. We can acknowledge and celebrate this in many ways.

Painting eggs, making a daisy chain, sitting around a fire, paying homage to the goddess with gifts of seeds, grains and eggs, are all ways to celebrate the day. Spring is a season to celebrate growth, new life, abundance of crops and the love of the goddess who looks after us all.

Putting a modern day spin on Ostara;

  • Sit around a campfire, toast some marshmallows
  • Paint or create a spring scene, using pastel colours, yellow, orange, lavender, and green
  • Enjoy a picnic outdoors, spend some time outside
  • Gaze at the beautiful moon

It’s all about our focus and intention, making meaning out of life and adding meaning to our lives. Happy Spring Equinox everyone.
