We had to paint the base of the shower last week. On a practical level that meant a bucket wash for a few days, while the shower floor dried. Shouldn’t be a problem, it’s wintertime and we aren’t doing anything too strenuous. Yet nothing beats a long hot shower, or even a short warm shower, any time of year. Running water. Washes away dirt and grime and rids us of the negative emotions and moods that linger like a film, layer upon layer on our auras.
The mornings are cold, not in the minus temperatures, but one and two degrees are still cold starts to the day. Once upon a time I lived where the maximum during the day was six degrees in the winter. I don’t miss that. Here, the day warms up – by mid-morning it’s gorgeous. The warmth lasts a few hours, then it cools right down again. Any planting or working in the garden can only be done during the warmth, to make sure we don’t damage the plants, but there’s not a lot to do in the garden at this time of year.
I have so many plans, and at the moment they are dependant on a lot of things. I know I need patience, and that things will change and get easier. There’s a reason for the changes in seasons, so we are able to gain a new perspective and also because the different times of the year have a different focus. At least we have sunlight and hot and cold running water. Happy days.
