When we practice gratitude, we experience health benefits, body, mind and spirit.

What does ‘practicing gratitude’ actually mean?

Simple Gratitude Practices

  1. Every morning we can think of ten things we are grateful for, and why we are grateful for each item.
  2. When we keep a gratitude journal, we can keep a record of everything we are grateful for. An useful exercise is to read through our journal, saying thank you for each item in the journal.
  3. At the end of the day, we pick up and hold our favourite rock, or crystal. Think back through the day, and all the great things that happened, all the things we are grateful for. Make a point of saying thank you for all those things.
  4. Say thank you, out loud, as often as possible. To people who serve us food and drink. To those who serve us in shops and supermarkets. Family members, friends and work mates…everyone in our lives.
  5. Walking – every step we take say thank you, out loud if possible. Try this around the house, or to or from the car, to our workplace or shops.
  6. Think of all the parts of our body, our hands, feet, legs, heart, brain, kidneys, lungs, and all our senses. Feel gratitude for all the parts of our body that is working well. The more grateful and thankful we are, the healthier we will be.
  7. Celebrate our lives so far. Think back, remembering everything we have been given, our homes, clothes, food, school, and feel the gratitude of all the gifts in our lives.
  8. Relationships and loved ones. Sometimes we only focus on the lack, loss or bad, so let’s now focus on the positive, the wonderful memories and the great positive relationships we have with people who are important to us.

It’s never too late, so let’s start now!
