I totally missed the new moon this month.

It snuck up on me and hit me on the head with a loud bang!

I have been busy the last few weeks, organising our weekend away, looking after hubby, working out time efficient ways to get the garden sorted and working on publishing a couple of my books, as well as my full time work.

I remember thinking on the weekend that I missed out on the new moon this month and shrugged it off. I would have to wait until next month to perform any rituals or planning of new projects.

I started feeling sick yesterday. Not really flu sick, but sore stomach, headache, cranky, moody, couldn’t settle, everything annoyed me more than normal. I don’t like getting sick. I spend more energy fighting being sick, rather than putting energy into resting. This morning my headache was worse. Everything hurt. I was even feeling cold.

Now I don’t like being inside all day or sitting still. I decided that today was an exception. I didn’t jump on my computer until late this afternoon. I didn’t write, or go outside. I sat in the loungeroom while watching a good show on television and planning out the next few days.

After a couple of hours, I felt so much better. I even sorted a couple of admin tasks that had been annoying me.

Then I realised that last night, now, is the new moon. The energy of the full moon can be challenging and disruptive, especially if we aren’t ready for it.

The moral of my story today is, for me, to keep track of the moon phases. I find that my moods, emotions, general health and wellbeing are linked to what I eat, how I spend my days and the moon’s cycle.

It’s not too late to use the new moon’s energy to release the rubbish and make some awesome plans!
