As I have re-discovered the joy of writing, it has prompted me to share with you, the value in writing, for our own health and wellbeing. It is therapeutic to write, to say things you might not be comfortable saying to family or friends. It can provide closure when saying goodbye to loved ones, or to resolve issues or arguments.
Just taking the time to sit and write words, whatever words come to you. The words are for you and you alone. You might choose to write a story or a letter or whatever words flow. It could take five minutes or five hours. As long as you would like to sit and write. You can even dictate on your phone or laptop if you are technologically inclined.
You may be surprised what you end up writing.
You can call it journaling, or writing in a diary. You might enjoy writing letters, poems, songs or random words.
The point is to let the words flow, to see where they lead you. It is therapeutic, creative and I love writing. I used to write when I was little, and then again a few years ago. Now I find myself writing more, entering competitions and I have even written a couple of books I will be publishing this year.
