The year is flying by, it’s May already!
I have seen a few articles and facebook posts titled “Mindfulness in May” and it got me thinking about what mindfulness actually means.
Some of the definitions I have found
Mindful or Mindfulness
- living in the present
- maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment
- being aware of our breathing
- accepting ourselves
Crystals to support mindfulness:
- clear quartz
- malachite
- obsidian
- calcite
Essential oils to support mindfulness:
- sandalwood
- cedarwood
- frankincense
Other ways to focus for mindfulness and meditation:
- Burning incense such as sandalwood, palo santo
- Find somewhere quiet where you wont be disturbed
- Doesn’t have to take a lot of time – five minutes can make a big difference
- Incorporate into daily activities
- Walking or light exercise
May, Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate our mother’s and also ourselves, by taking up some form of mindfulness this month. Let’s look after ourselves too!
