The year is flying by, it’s May already!

I have seen a few articles and facebook posts titled “Mindfulness in May” and it got me thinking about what mindfulness actually means.

Some of the definitions I have found

Mindful or Mindfulness

  • living in the present
  • maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment
  • being aware of our breathing
  • accepting ourselves

Crystals to support mindfulness:

  • clear quartz
  • malachite
  • obsidian
  • calcite

Essential oils to support mindfulness:

  • sandalwood
  • cedarwood
  • frankincense

Other ways to focus for mindfulness and meditation:

  • Burning incense such as sandalwood, palo santo
  • Find somewhere quiet where you wont be disturbed
  • Doesn’t have to take a lot of time – five minutes can make a big difference
  • Incorporate into daily activities
  • Walking or light exercise

May, Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate our mother’s and also ourselves, by taking up some form of mindfulness this month. Let’s look after ourselves too!
