Today is winter solstice, the shortest day and the longest night of the year. After today, although still winter, the days will slowly start getting longer. This is very good news for those of us who feel emotionally anxious and depressed during the dark, cold months. It will still be cold, but ever so slightly less dark.
Then on Thursday it is a Strawberry full moon. It is sometimes called a Mead Moon or Honey Moon, and apparently the names are linked to the harvests and the time of year. We are in the southern hemisphere and so I am not quite sure of the harvests at this time – although I have been harvesting tomatoes and salad greens.
The full moon is a time for releasing what no longer serves us, focusing on what we want and celebrate all that we already have. Forgive others and ourselves, let go of the pain and regret and things unanswered. Focus instead on our intentions, and the person we are today.
It is also a time for creativity, whether that is cooking a meal, making bread, soups, wholesome nourishing foods from fresh ingredients.
It is a big week everyone, let’s remember to be kind, to ourselves as well as others. If you need help, call it out, ask for help.
If you have a question I can answer, write it down and send it to me. I am here to help with witchy eclectic aromatherapy, crystal and alternative therapy advice and options.
