Alternative therapies versus modern medicine
The best piece of advice I was given many year ago was to think outside the square with health and wellness. Don’t accept what you have always been told as true, Question and follow your intuition.
This led me on my quest for knowledge and understanding of traditional practices, to use in addition to and to support with modern medicine.
When you really think about it, alternative therapies are just an alternative to ‘modern’ medicine. What we call alternative therapies are actually what people used years ago, before modern medicine. They are the traditions passed down between generations, for generations. This traditional medicine is actually what the medicine we know today is based on – synthetic solutions based on the plants and herbal medicine of many years ago.
In life as it is today, there is a place for both modern and traditional (alternative) medicine.
Traditional Medicine
- Eating an apple a day
- Peppermint tea for digestion
- Chamomile tea for calming
- A foot soak Epsom salts
- Honey and lemon for a sore throat
- Tea Tree oil to treat head lice
- Lavender oil to relax and sleep
