Back to Basics – Uses for Oils
Lemon essential oil
- Diffuse to ease anxiety
- Diffuse and rub on stomach to ease nausea and vomiting
- Topically (always dilute oils with a carrier oil when using topically) on skin, reduces inflammation, irritation, acne and can help with wounds
- Diffuse to ease a sore throat
- Diffuse for focus and concentration
- Other uses include – as a cleaner on toys, shoes, fridge, benchtops, sinks and other kitchen and bathroom surfaces, also great on wood furniture
Peppermint essential oil
- Diffuse or dilute a couple of drops with carrier oil and rub on stomach for Irritable bowel, nausea, bloating and other stomach / digestive issues
- Pain Management – Dilute a few drops with carrier oil and rub directly on the area of pain
- Headache – diffuse and / or apply a couple of drops with carrier oil on temple
- Fever, cold, flu symptoms – diffuse and / or apply a couple of drops with carrier oil on feet and back of neck
- Add a couple of drops to toothpaste or mouthwash to freshen breathe
- Other uses – a couple of drops in a cup of tea,, or in desserts, muffins, chocolate etc; I also like a couple of drops in the toilet to make the whole house smell awesome
Lavender essential oil
- Anxiety – Diffuse to relieve anxiety
- Relaxation – Add a few drops to a bath, pillow and / or diffuse to assist relaxation
- Diffuse to ease seasonal allergies
- Dilute with carrier oil and apply to skin to ease irritations, bug bites, eczema etc
- Sleep – diffuse and or apply to bottom of feet, pulse points, pillow and sheets
- Other uses – diffuse and / or dilute and apply to ease symptoms of menstruation, headache or migraine
Tea Tree essential oil
- Hand Sanitizer – dilute with aloe vera oil and use on hands
- Insect repellent – a few drops with fractionated coconut oil and apply
- Minor cuts and scrapes – add a drop to cream and apply during the day
- Fungal nails – apply directly to nail
- Dry Skin and Eczema – dilute with carrier oil and apply
- Anti inflammation for itchy skin – dilute and apply
- Hair and scalp care – dilute with carrier oil, apply and massage through hair and scalp, leave on for 20 minutes, wash hair as normal you can add a couple of drops tea tree to shampoo and conditioner)
5 ways to use Oregano
- As a cleaner – add a few drops to our general cleaner
- Add a drop or two to cooking where you would normally use the fresh or dried herb (remember this is a hot oil so only a drop
- Dilute one drop with carrier oil and apply to warts or skin tags, several times a day
- Diffuse for respiratory support, immune support and digestive support
- Dilute (a drop or two) and use as a hand cleaner
- Dilute (a drop or two) and apply to bottom of feet for immune support
