Obstacles, we all have them in our lives, let’s be honest. Even the most positive and upbeat person has things that happen that make them think “what the?” “This is too hard” “I can’t do it” “I give up”. It is so easy to make that decision and that statement and move on to the next idea, or even worse, sit on the lounge and watch television all day. Don’t get me wrong TV is okay, but all day? I am too easily bored.

The thing is the positive ones, then think, “That’s ridiculous” “why should I give up on what I really want” “I’m still going for it”. They might get caught for a while in the negative, but they work through it, finding out what works for them, letting go or what doesn’t and they find a new way to move forward towards their goals.

My story in this, I am stubborn, I am determined, I want to do and be and achieve so many things. I know I can do anything I dream I can do. I have proven that time and time again. I have been called Pollyanna, as I refuse to see the negative or ‘cant’ for others. For me, I get incredibly frustrated when I cant do, be, achieve what I want…in the timeframe I want to do it. There are so many projects around our home and garden I want to get done, now, not in five years time. I am here and have five minutes, why cant we build a greenhouse, tear up the carpets, paint the house, today?? At work, I there are things I want to progress and achieve, in my timeframe, not the public service, I don’t care, there’s no hurry or responsibility timeframe. In my business, I want to finish my naturopathy study and have my naturopathy, Reiki and essential oil business happening now!!!

No wonder Pete is so exhausted! He is wonderful, and I am sure I am hard work when I grump and grumble around moaning about all the things I want to do, that I cant, just at this moment.

My point is, a reminder for myself and everyone else who struggles with this, is don’t dwell on the frustrations on what we cant do today or tomorrow. Remember all we have done, be grateful for all that we have achieved and yes be grateful for everything we will achieve in the future. For me, I need to remember this, I need to breathe, not focus on what isn’t done, and be happy with what I do get to do each and every day. Overcome obstacles by moving, moving forward, being kinder to ourselves and others. Celebrate – life!
