I have decided I need to make a concerted effort to remember to bring positive power to every area of my life. I know that manifestation and visualisation works. I know that gratitude and being thankful works. I know that focusing on things work. I have so many wonderful examples of how this works. I have this awesome house in a terrific community. Pete and I have a fantastic relationship, I have a great job that allows me to pay off this house, make improvements and create a garden.

Still like everyone else, there are areas of my life that need improvement. I would love to be working out here closer to where we live, on a wage that allows us to follow our dreams. I would love a closer relationship with each of my children. I want to make sure I continue to experience good health. There are so many things I want to achieve with the rest of my life.

Thinking about how to make sure this positive focus stays in every thought and word, in every day – I came up with the concept of positive power. Starting from today I am going to make sure that every time I think a negative thought, have a negative feeling or speak a less than positive word that I stop myself and focus on the exact opposite.

I want to go one step further and focus on one specific thing I want to attract in my life. Every time I doubt I can achieve my goal, I will stop myself and focus on the exact thing I want, and how it feels to have it. I am pretty sure I will have days when it is difficult to keep focus, or when stupid, or negative thoughts pop in, after all, I am human. But I know from experience that when I focus on what I want, the universe will bring it to me. Also when I focus on what I don’t want, the universe will bring it to me. The universe only knows what I am focusing on, it doesn’t know why, it just gives us what we focus on.

1. Commit to every time I have a negative thought, feeling or word, I think the exact opposite

An example would be – instead of worrying that I won’t find the shoes in the bottom of my cupboard, thinking how easy it would be to find my shoes. This really works. Try it. What is that one thing that really annoys you, a minor thing, that every day you say…”I must really do….but it’s too hard.” Instead think, “I am going to find it easy to find that shoe in my cupboard,” and see what happens. Instead of saying “I will never be able to…”, try “I find it easy to…dig the hole for the rose bush,” and see how quickly and easily it all happens.

As the day goes by, at work, home or wherever, there will be people and situations that annoy us, it is human nature. Instead of dwelling on what annoys, dismiss the negative and get on with focusing on what we want. Much better if we don’t dwell on what annoys us in others, or on what we see is getting in our way. What about those aches and pains, that stop us doing stuff? Do I focus on the ache and pain stopping me doing something, or do I do it anyway? (Within reason?)

2. Pick one thing I want to have in my life and focus on it

An example for me is, focusing on improving relationships with my children. Instead of thinking about the parts of the relationships that aren’t going too good, so focusing on the negative, instead I will focus on enjoying a positive and happy relationship with each of my children. It may take ages, but stranger things have happened. Every time I think about how the relationships may not be too good, I catch myself and turn it around and focus on and picture myself spending quality time with my children.

Another example, for me is that long term I want to create and grow a business of sorts out here, where I live, instead of driving into Canberra each day. The business, a natural healing business, guiding and teaching others. It may be a little difficult some days to picture this, but I keep trying, knowing that unless I can picture it clearly it won’t happen.

Instead of letting doubt creep into my thoughts, my aim, which I renew each week, is to remain focused on what I want to achieve, convinced I will achieve it. For some of us at any one time, it may be helpful to break this down into even smaller chunks, by the day, or the hour. So instead of doubting that we will have the money to pay the bills or to save for the holiday we want, be certain that the money is there. Expect that we will pay the bills no problem. Instead of worrying that we will have issues at work, expect that the day at work will be useful and fruitful, that people will listen, it will not be stressful. Instead of worrying about that argument with the spouse or kids, be certain that the relationship is okay and it will all work out. Projecting positive power, works wonders.

We can use visual aides to help keep our focus. If my focus is on family – I keep a picture of my family close by. If my focus is abundance and wealth – pictures of wealth and abundance. Vision boards are created for this very reason. It is a visual representation of what we want to have in our lives. Spend time finding the picture, designing the vision board, then display it where you will look at it during the day. For those who say they aren’t creative enough, use post it notes around the house, and car, with words that are your focus – such as house, car, new job, family, love, abundance, health, holiday.

3. With every step I take, when I remember, I say Thank You. As I do I smile, thinking of all the good things in my life.  It is difficult to be grumpy, negative or cranky when walking around saying thank you, even if only silently, with a huge smile on my face.

Instead of wishing I had more time to do things, I am looking forward to all the time I have. Just in this last week, I have noticed a difference, with this way of thinking, I have put off less things, achieved more things on my to do list. Instead of saying, I will do it one day, do it today, right now. So far this morning I have made up a shower and bathroom cleaner, put on the washing, sprayed the roses, and general cleaning and tidying. What is one thing you want to do, that you have been putting off that you could do today? Remember to keep focused on the one thing you want to manifest this week.

This might sound basic and mundane, but it’s all about our attitude and our state of mind. With positive power we don’t worry about things we want to do, we just do it. Instead of moaning about people or situations, we see the good and positive in things. If we want to improve relationships, don’t complain that they never call. We pick up the phone and make the call. If we don’t have the number, we focus on the person, draw them towards us. If we want more people to come to our business, we focus on positive interaction with customers. Small steps, each day can make a world of difference.

So what do we do when doubts start to creep in? It’s normal when changing our behaviour, that just when things are going well, something will trigger old thought patterns and behaviour. Try to turn the thought patterns around, without hesitation. When I find myself thinking that I can’t do something, I tell myself that I can. I get up and go and do it. When “it’s not working”, or “it’s not possible,” creep in, I immediately replace it with it is possible, I can do it, I will achieve it.

Remember to keep focusing on that one thing you want to achieve. Take small action steps. Know it’s getting closer. Imagine and feel you have already achieved it.  Be kind to yourself, when focusing on positive power. Believe it, feel it, achieve it!
